Let’s face it: it takes a lot of work to plan for a wedding. But, deciding where to go on your honeymoon once the knot has been tied is all about fun and fantasy. Your first holiday together as a married couple should be a delightful fulfillment of your dreams, a chance to enjoy the company of the person who means the most to you. This might just be the most romantic vacation you will ever experience, so consider these international locations when choosing the perfect spot.

1. There is no limit of beautiful destinations to choose from when planning a honeymoon. One of the most popular, however, remains Hawaii. Sought out by honeymooners the world over, the Hawaiian Islands offer the excitement of discovery: there is always an variety of beautiful views and fun experiences to keep you on your toes. Just sitting on a beach and watching the sunset with the love of your life might be worth a trip to the Hawaiian Islands. But if you were looking for something to fill the other twenty-three hours of the day, you could golf on some of the most beautiful courses on earth. Whatever you are looking for from your honeymoon, you can find in Hawaii.

2. Tour the coast of southern Europe. The Mediterranean region offers both beauty and culture to the couple looking for a variety of experiences. Travel to Italy, where you can enjoy the sand by the sea and the beautiful mountain scenery of the Alps. Visit Rome and Vatican City, where you can take in ancient ruins and Baroque statues on one guided tour. In northern Italy, you will find the vibrant cultural centers of Venice and Milan. Stop off in the Florence and visit some of the most renowned museums in the world.

3. When looking for the perfect tropical destination, you cannot beat Tahiti. This Polynesian island might just be the closest thing to paradise on earth. There are pristine beaches to explore, of course, but also the rustic town of Papeete which has plenty of shops and eateries to appeal to tourists. Take a cruise tour of the surrounding islands, or even go below the water and visit the coral reefs.

4. Another tropical option is Anguilla, a tiny island near the British Virgin Islands. Anguilla is the place for couples who just want to relax and bask in the glorious sunshine. Besides the perfect beaches that you would expect from an island in the Caribbean, you can also expect to find hospitable lodgings and restaurants. This island is just the place to enjoy that perfectly romantic sunset.

5. The islands of Fiji combine pristine beaches with spectacular mountain views. Located in the South Pacific, it is one of the most beautiful locations you could find. Fiji even allows you to book a private island for a day! Spend a the day alone the person you love best, running down the beach, swimming, eating a delightful lunch and finally, relaxing on the beach as the sun sets. What could be better?

An Antigua Holiday staying at the Suite Hotel called the Trade Winds above Dickenson Bay could make a lot of sense. The Trade Winds Hotel could also be a good choice for your Antigua Honeymoon, as it is small and intimate, having only 45 rooms, and is definitely a place for the discerning guest.

Best described as peaceful, friendly, and relaxing the Trade Winds Hotel provides the perfect solution for people who don’t want to pay the earth, and don’t want something that is overly pretentious. Whilst not really what you would describe as a boutique hotel, because that would be pretentious, the Trade Winds nevertheless is similar without the sky high prices.

Being on a hill, the views are spectacular, although the walk up from the beach is steep. Having said that the hotel operates a shuttle bus, so you don’t have to walk. The benefits far outweigh the drawbacks, because the hill gives you not only the spectacular view, it also means the hotel is away from the noise and bustle, so you do get peace and quiet.

The beach itself, and anyone choosing an Antigua holiday will be mindful of the great beaches the island has, and they will not be disappointed here. You can walk for what seems like miles and the water is such a dreamy shade of blue. There are places to eat, bars, whee if you buy a few drinks, they will supply you with deck chairs.

Reports from guests talk about the fact that the Trade Winds Hotel may be rated as a three star, but the general feeling was it was in truth between four to five star but with three star prices. A little bit of luxury, with very professional and friendly staff, is another often heard comment from the very satisfied guests.

The rooms are large and this cannot always be said when you stay in an hotel on an Antigua vacation. They are also light and airy with a terrace or balcony that looks out over the sea.

The food in the restaurant, called Bay House is excellent with good choices, and you will notice a good many non residents, and locals coming into eat in the evenings. Probably the outstanding part of the evening meals are the desserts. There is also a small pool, sun deck, and bar, and the grounds are lush with tropical vegetation

One of the great things about taking an Antigua holiday at the Trade Winds Hotel is that you will be made to feel like an individual. This means the staff appear to know your room number, your name very quickly, and your likes and dislikes in the way of food and drink. This sort of thing rarely happens when you stay in a larger hotel where it can be quite impersonal.

If you can get your meal plans in place before you go. There are some great restaurants within easy driving reach, so determine what you want to do in the evenings, because if you take the meal plan that includes dinner, you will find that whilst there is a $50ECD limit for breakfast which is no problem anyway, there is no limit for dinner, so you can try all the most expensive dishes and it will be included.. Also be aware that a lot of rooms are permanently booked to BA aircrew, and whilst they can be somewhat boisterous, they do come and go, which adds an air of exclusivity for those permanent, or semi permanent guests.

The Trade Winds Hotel would be a good choice for an Antigua Holiday, and ideal for an Antigua Honeymoon if you want the glamour of the Caribbean, but not some of the ridiculous prices.

If you are a newly wed couple and are thinking of a honeymoon destination, look no where else and plan a Caribbean honeymoon. Very few places on the globe could compete with Caribbean honeymoon. But the only hitch here is that there are over 7000 Caribbean islands and it is really a gigantic task deciding upon any one of them for celebrating your honeymoon.

It is true that all these islands are not inhabited but still the task of making a choice is not simple. You would find that each and every Caribbean island has its own distinctive culture and tradition and would appeal to anyone visiting here. But the best news for honeymooners is that each and every island comes with at least one all inclusive resort which proves to be the best thing for honeymooners.

There are a few things that you must keep in mind when you think of a Caribbean honeymoon.

The very first thing that you would have to do would be to choose an island that could be ideal for you as newly-weds. As mentioned earlier there is no shortage of islands to choose from and you are sure to find an island to suit your taste. So, if you are looking for a typical Caribbean honeymoon experience, Jamaica is the place to visit. It is a big island that offers you everything right from shopping and clubbing to hikes and waterfalls. And what is more, you can find a number of all inclusive resorts that makes everything so simple.

And if you are thinking of intimacy and privacy, then there are a number of smaller islands that would provide you complete privacy. You might like to visit Culebra and Dominica if you need privacy with your spouse. These islands don’t offer you much in terms of other facilities but yes, you can rest in warm sun and enjoy time with your loved one.

The next thing that you should be looking for is an all inclusive Caribbean honeymoon resort. And there would be no paucity of resorts to choose from. You should start with resorts which are “adults only or couples only.” These resorts are meant exclusively for couples on romantic holidays. This would ensure that you don’t have to bear vociferous families and boisterous kids.

And lastly, when you have made the reservations and have paid for the trip, you should start packing your bags and get ready for the trip. The best thing about Caribbean honeymoon package is that everything is all inclusive in the price of the trip. So, no need to worry about meals, drinks, beach privileges, resorts, and water sports.

So, with all this information you are more than ready for your Caribbean honeymoon trip. So, what are you waiting for?

One of the hottest places to go on a honeymoon is the Caribbean. There are a few reasons why the Caribbean is the ideal honey spot. First, hardly any folk live in an enchanting tropical shangri la as is located on the majority of the Caribbean islands.

Because we don’t live in this type of weather, the Caribbean is an escape from fact. Another excuse when the Caribbean is an excellent place for a vacation is often because it is essentially so popular. The islands cater to couples and love, and you’ll find a selection of special activities available just for newlyweds.
Your honeymoon is the beginning of a new life with somebody you adore. As well as a good reason to visit one of the most pretty places in the complete world.
You can choose from a lot of islands in the caribbean to get your honeymoon vacation:
Some of the main islands in the Caribbean include the following:
Cuba, Dominica, Anguilla, Antiqua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Aruba, Cayman Islands, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad, Tobago, Turks and the Caicos Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
If you leave straight from your reception or wait two weeks till the excitement dies down, a honeymoon is a holiday that you’ll remember for the remainder of your life.
To devise a honeymoon in the Caribbean, you need to start long before you even finish planning your marriage.
1 : ensure that you check to see what categories of travel forms are required to visit the honeymoon destination from your country and be ready to experience this fun caribbean culture by reading up on the various things you can do and see while there.
2 : thing you should think about when it comes to arranging a Caribbean honeymoon is that you’ll need a technique to transition from the marriage to the honeymoon.
3 : consider how much the honeymoon will cost in your position. If you overspend, you will find yourself coming back home to a new life full of debt, and that is never a good way to start a new life. Instead, commence with a budget in mind and find a Caribbean island that will meet your wishes.
Historically , the honeymoon was to start on your marriage night, but most couples also like to hold marriage receptions. Your marriage reception will most likely last well into the night, and leaving for a plane trip to the Caribbean islands might not be the best concept at that point. Instead, heaps of couples are opting to spend the night in a local hotel and leave for the honeymoon in the morning.

Others spend the week after the marriage moving into a new home and leave on the honeymoon after that. Some couples even wait a complete year and plan their honeymoon for their first anniversary to save up cash. The key is to do what’s best for you.

When you’re in the Caribbeany ou may receive special treatment like a ticket bumped to first-class or a nicer hotel room for a similar price if folk are helping you to celebrate. Fizz and other free drinks, special costs are restaurants , and hotel gifts are a few of the other great honeymoon specials you can receive on your honeymoon in the Caribbean. This could be a good way to start your new life, so even if little things go incorrect, simply target enjoying your time together.

Where in the Caribbean can you get the most for your money?

David Seeberger: Some people have the mistaken impression that the Caribbean is only for the luxury traveler. There are nice moderate accommodations on almost every island in the Caribbean basin. The Dominican Republic has several all-inclusive properties that are a good value. The Caribbean has lots of all-inclusive resorts (and not just the heavily-marketed resort chains), which for the budget traveler often provides more bang for the buck.

Jamaica and Puerto Rico are known as having good values for the budget traveler. The Caribbean is a very complex market compared to many other destinations, and while it’s easy for any agent to book resorts in the Caribbean, you’ll usually find that a specialist with a thorough background in the Caribbean can find you a better and more memorable experience for your money.

When is the best time to go to the Caribbean?

David: The Caribbean has become a year round vacation destination. The peak travel season is December to March. This time frame has the highest prices and coincides with the worst weather back here in the mainland US.

The official Caribbean hurricane season is June 1 to November 30. Many resorts offer hurricane rebate guarantees and many tour operators require travel insurance purchase during this time. The travel insurance will insure refund in the rare reality of a hurricane hitting your destination during that time. Your travel agent will have the most up to dated travel protection ideas for your vacation. Many travelers don’t realize how massive the Caribbean region is, and it is highly unlikely that a single hurricane will affect devastatingly a large area of the Caribbean. If a hurricane is headed to your vacation island, the airlines will generally suspend additional travel to the area and evacuate as many vacationers as possible before the hurricane arrives.

If you’re going to be honeymooning during hurricane season, and can’t take the chance of being visited by a hurricane on your vacation, there are some wonderful islands like Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao which lay beneath the traditional hurricane belt, and are rarely if ever touched by hurricanes.

Best rates for travel generally occur during the low season, but some properties close some of their facilities during that season. Working with an agent who specializes in the Caribbean will help you pick accommodations that will provide the best experience for your holiday. Legend has it that “once you visit the Caribbean, you will return again and again.”

Do you have any favorite “hidden gems” in the Caribbean?

David: Hidden gems exist all through the Caribbean. Some of my moderate favorites include the Bucuti Beach hotel in Aruba. Below the hurricane belt in Aruba, this hidden boutique hotel jewel is family run and has the widest sand beach in Aruba.

Another moderate hotel that helps you get much value for the dollar, is booking the Comfort Suites in Paradise Island. If you stay at this hotel adjacent to Atlantis Resort and Casino, you get to use the facilities of the amazing Atlantis.

Anguilla is one of the most popular islands for celebrity watching now. One of my favorite moderate hotels is on that island. At only 35 rooms The Anguilla Great House Beach Resort is a good value. All the rooms have a nice view of the Caribbean Sea and it’s a great spot for romance.

My current favorite world-class property in the Caribbean is the Four Seasons Resort on Nevis. Although it is a little bigger at 196 rooms, it is still a low-rise resort, and is small enough to still feel intimate and pampered. It has one of the Caribbean’s largest sports facilities and one of its best golf courses.

If you want to splurge a little, two of my favorites for romance are both intimate properties. The Horned Dorset Primavera in Puerto Rico is considered to be the most elegant, romantic inn in Puerto Rico, with private plunge pools and tubs for two. I also love the small Anse Chastanet on St. Lucia. Some of the plantation villa style rooms have one wall missing, opening to a freshwater pool, helping the lucky guest become closer to nature.

What makes the Caribbean a special destination when compared to Mexico or Hawaii?

David: The most important difference is air distance. Clients just don’t want to fly as far as they used to. The natural travel market for the Caribbean region is the midwest and east coast of the U.S. The southern states’ natural travel market is Mexico, while the west coast loves to visit Hawaii.

Like Mexico and Hawaii, the Caribbean is predominately known as a sun and sand destination. The Caribbean provides a close-by destination to experience different cultures, history, countries, and sometimes even different languages–although in most destinations English speakers are easy to find. The Caribbean has a wider selection of accommodations to choose from, compared to Hawaii or Mexico. They range from small guesthouses, to moderate and world-class all-inclusive resorts, to world-class best-of-the-best luxury villas. The Caribbean also provides more gaming and duty free shopping opportunities then Hawaii or Mexico.

Where do celebrities like to stay?

David: Celebrities flock to the Caribbean for the same reasons we all do- SUN, SAND, RELAXATION AND RENEWAL. Many celebrities have homes in the Caribbean. Some of the more recent celebrity hangouts include St. John where Kenny Chesney makes his home. Another popular celebrity hangout is at Paradise Island in the Bahamas where Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods and many other celebrities have homes.

Anguilla contains the Cap Juluca resort, a 179-acre celebrity favorite. It is a dramatic, white Moorish-style resort totally devoted to romance and luxury. Sandy Lane in Barbados is also known for its celebrity clientele. Tiger Woods rented the entire hotel in 2004 for his wedding.

Current hot celebrity island destinations include St. Barts, often referred by Hollywood as St. Tropez in the Caribbean. David Letterman, Uma Thurman and many others favor St. Barts.

David has been with TheBigDay Travel since March 2005. He brings a wealth of experience on the wholesale as well as the retail side of travel. His main passion is helping arrange wonderful sun & sand vacations to areas such as Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean. Be sure to ask him about his recent European journeys as well.
