One of the best and most affordable Caribbean vacation spots is a lovely little Belizean seacoast village just a few hours from the USA.

Placencia, Belize, is one of the most laid back, pretty and interesting places in the Caribbean. This friendly little village situated on the tip of a long sandy peninsula in south eastern Belize is an affordable, uncrowded little gem of a tropical paradise.

With sixteen miles of sandy beaches, the impossibly blue Caribbean on one side, a mangrove-fringed lagoon teeming with life on the other, Placencia is indeed very special. And just offshore are myriad cayes, or small islands, dotting Belize’s Barrier Reef, the second largest reef in the world. Uncrowded diving, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking and island exploration trips are less than an hour away, and you’ll also get to meet some of the friendliest people on the planet.

As Caribbean holiday destinations go, Placencia is still relatively untouched, and retains an air of a place where people live, rather than a place where people visit. Everyone seems to know each other, and the main thoroughfare, a 4,071 foot long by 4 foot wide footpath recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the narrowest main street in the world, is usually alive with conversation and laughter.

Scattered along Placencia’s sidewalk and fronting Belize’s Caribbean Sea is an assortment of affordable, comfortable, casual bars and restaurants that tick over slowly during the day and come alive when the sun goes down. Attire is emphatically informal, with the “no shirt, no shoes no worries” rule firmly in place throughout Placencia village.

If you’re looking for a more serene Placencia experience, the resorts scattered along the peninsula are quieter and often have their own beach front amenities. Since we were enjoying a second honeymoon vacation, my wife and I opted for one of the Jungle and sea packages offered by The Lodge at Chaa Creek and found ourselves atRobert’s Grove, a beautiful bit of luxury on 22 acres of white sand and coconut trees. Chaa Creek’s affordable packages are some of the best to be found anywhere in Belize, and we were not disappointed with this combination of rainforest and pristine beaches. We stayed close to this lovely resort and beach our first few days and were wonderfully lazy.

When you’ve had enough relaxation, there’s plenty to do along the Placencia Peninsula and in the sea. Placencia is universally regarded as having the best beaches on the Belizean mainland, and they’re perfect for swimming, snorkelling, or just reading and sunbathing. And the nearby Belize Coral Reef system, the second largest in the world and dotted with some 200 cayes, constantly beckons.

Reef excursions and dive trips are all easily booked from town, with certified, affordable PADI and NAUI scuba instruction available year round. The dive shops have come a long way over the years, and can cater to the most demanding diver. The Blue Hole, featured in the famous Cousteau/Calypso documentary, is easy to get to, and Placencia is definitely the best place to see huge whale sharks, the largest fish in the world. Caribbean turtles, manatees, dolphins, giant rays, conchs and lobsters are all native to the Belizean seacoast and commonly seen even while snorkelling.

For those more comfortable above the water, trips to Laughing Bird, French Louie, Silk and other Cayes are popular, with kayaking and all the other water sports one expects from a Caribbean island vacation. There are catamarans and sailboats with or without crews to hire, incredible sport fishing with knowledgeable guides, and relaxed, informal water tours of the Belizean reef system.

But many people find that Placencia Village itself offers enough entertainment and relaxation to fill their days. Spend an hour at village watering holes or up the coast at Kitty’s Resort, Maya Beach or Robert’s Grove and you’ll quickly learn what’s going on and when. Bicycle around or walk the seven miles of uninterrupted palm lined coastline to the Village of Seine Bight, where you can experience first-hand the unique Garifuna food and culture. Birding in Belize is excellent, and the Placencia Peninsula is no exception.

We enjoyed a magical week in Placencia and could have easily spent another. As an affordable Caribbean holiday goes, it would be tough to beat Belize’s laid back and lovely Placencia Village.

Are you still wishing for that Caribbean holiday? You can have a Bahamas getaway in Florida all year round with a little help from a Florida home refinance loan.

Great sunsets and starry nights – yours for a lifetime

Imagine having a Caribbean fiesta right in your own patio. You can host a barbecue party, serve tequila, and watch the glorious sunset with your guests. There is nothing like having your own piece of Florida. Home refinance loans will make this happen and the dividends will pay off for a lifetime of pleasure for you and your family.

You can get a charming two-storey house near downtown St. Petersburg or a condominium in Clearwater where the beach is just a hop and a skip away. If you love to dish out mouth-watering barbecues, steaks, and salads, you can have your own little watering hole in Coral Way. You can choose from any of these great Florida hotspots – Miami, Orlando, Kissimmee, Tampa, Key West, Fort Lauderdale, Lake Buena Vista, Boca Raton, Jacksonville, and Naples for anything that floats your boat.

But if it is the beach, great fishing, snorkeling, or the great shelling adventure that appeals to you, a beach home in San Carlos Bay in Sanibel is right for you. After a grinding week at the office, your Caribbean paradise waits for you right in your Sanibel, Florida home. Refinance experts will also give you pointers about the things to do and great places to go near Sanibel. After shelling on the beach, you can take your family to the great parks nearby or dine in the many cool places on Periwinkle Way.

Get set for a Florida home refinance

The opportunities are limitless in Florida. Home refinance loan companies can help you sort out your present loan. A refinance will give you a lesser interest rate than your present loan. You’ll have some extra cash to spruce up your place, be it a private home or a shop. Florida home refinance experts will advice you to have a ready purchase so you can lock on to lower interest rates when rates take a dip. At this point, buying a property in Florida will be your best option because house sellers are ready to give bigger incentives. So, why not invest for your family’s future now?

Prepare all the necessary documents for an immediate loan decision. Be ready to answer questions about your credit history and when the house appraiser knocks on your door, let him in immediately. There is no worry about cleaning up for the appraiser. He is there to assess your property, not your housekeeping skills. In short, acting quick and acting now will help make your loan processing snappy.

Choosing the right Florida home lenders

With your future in mind, get smart. Go for the company that offers the lowest interest rate, but check out the savings you can generate too. Pay points to have your interest rate lowered and make sure these are written off your income tax. Ask the Florida home refinance agent about other incentives. Surely he can present a long list of choices to make your investment worthwhile. When you have finalized your transaction, expect a Caribbean environment ahead – rosy sunsets and diamond studded nights – all yours for a lifetime.

Most of us have an idyllic paradise fantasy island, we’d love to visit, and going on vacation to the Caribbean will fulfill that fantasy. There are various islands to choose from, including the well known Jamaica, Barbados the Bahamas And Trinidad, and you could concentrate on one or explore more of them and island hop by boat. You could organize the trip yourself, but it may be beneficial for first time visitors to book through a specialist Caribbean travel agent, who will have extensive knowledge of what each island has to offer.

You can expect temperatures between 75 and 85F during both summer and winter, but late night and early in the morning are often chillier. The whole year tends to be humid, with its share of bugs, and its generally advised not to visit in the fall when mosquitoes are much in evidence.

There is a variety of accommodation on the islands, including luxury hotels, private villas, and villa resorts. You can charter a yacht or book yourself on a cruise ship. If you want a more inexpensive choice, there are also apartments and guest houses.

If you have sufficient sailing experience, you could captain your own yacht, whether a motor or by sail, or you could hire one with a crew,

With beautiful, palm fringed golden beaches and turquoise water, it’s tempting just to sunbathe with a pina colade. If you want to be more active, there’s plenty to do, and some hotels specialize in different activities. Most of the larger sized islands have golf courses, the superior ones run by the better hotels or villa resorts. Look out for package deals, which include golf in the price. The Caribbean is a favorite haunt for scuba divers. The majority of islands have dive shops, and it’s easy to organize. If you’re a novice, there is tuition available. You can even arrange to stay somewhere near to one of the dive shops. Coral reefs, caves and shipwrecks make it an unforgettable experience.

The Caribbean experience wouldn’t be fulfilled, unless you’ve danced the calypso in a carnival, and it’s a good idea to time your trip for at least one of these.

The Caribbean has worked to raise its standard of cuisine for the international tourist, and you can expect excellent food, especially the locally caught, fresh fish.

The Caribbean consists of several islands lies in the area of Caribbean sea . The islands have a historically mixed culture with influence from Indian, African, and Spanish heritage. The islands with their white sandy beaches, bright blue water, and carnival celebrations, the Caribbean will fulfill your fantasy of a paradise island. As there various islands to choose from, you can either concentrate your vacation on one, or island hop to several by boat. A Caribbean holidays vacation will prove to be a favorite escape whether you are traveling by yourself or with friends and loved ones.

Weather

The weather throughout the Caribbean will vary from island to island, but the temperature is often moderate year-round. During both the summer and winter seasons, the temperatures is between 70 and 85F, though the early mornings and late nights are often much more cooler. Even though the Caribbean is a tropical place, the chances of experiencing any type of extreme weather is small. The Caribbean also only experience heavy rain in the case of a hurricane, but direct hits are rare.

Antigua, the largest of the English-speaking Leeward Islands in the eastern Caribbean, measures about 22 by 18 km and encompasses about 275 square km. Antigua is also the name of a nation that includes two other islands: Barbuda, about 50 km due north, a flat coral island only 174 square km in area; and the tiny (1.5 square km) uninhabited island of Redonda, now a nature preserve and bird sanctuary.

Down in the southwestern corner of Antigua is Boggy Peak (4,020 metres), which sounds like a contradiction in terms but is the name of the highest point. The capital of this small nation, which is home to some 68,000 people, is St John’s, on Antigua.

NELSON HATED IT, MILLIONAIRES LOVE IT

Well, for one thing it has a remarkable history. In 1784 the then unknown but now legendary Admiral Horatio Nelson decided that the island, with its warm, steady winds, its lacy coastline indented with safe harbours, bays and inlets, and its protective rim of coral reef almost encircling the island, would be the perfect place to hide a fleet and so he established what became Great Britain’s most important Caribbean base. He was not happy here. Nelson, poor man, hated the place, calling it an ‘infernal hole’, declaring English Harbour ‘vile’ and decrying the uncouth and unpatriotic behaviour of the English inhabitants. The mosquitoes plagued him and he succumbed to the fever during his three-year stay, before finally escaping back to England with an expat English wife whom he married in Nevis.

Little could Nelson imagine that over 200 years later the same characteristics that attracted the Royal Navy would make Antigua and Barbuda one of the Caribbean’s favourite tourist destinations, ranked as Best Island for Celeb Spotting by Caribbean Travel & Life magazine. Eric Clapton and Giorgio Armani own properties here, Keith Richards and Posh and Becks have holidayed here, and each April the Sailing Week attracts American tycoons such as Bill Gates, along with droves of Hollywood stars.

EXPLORE, ADV ENTURE AND ROMANCE

As well as the beaches, inlets and almost constant balmy northeast trade winds, the temperature fluctuates only mildly from the mid-20s Celsius in winter to the low 30s in summer. Annual rainfall averages only 114 cm, making it the sunniest of the eastern Caribbean Islands, with low humidity all year round. Its romantic, with lots of secret places, and hence the most popular destination for weddings in the last two years, and there are said to be 365 white and pink sand beaches, one for every day of the year.

For tourists with a taste for culture and history, there are the charms of St John’s itself, with its narrow streets and heavy stone cathedral; the restored Georgian warehouses and working marina of Nelson’s Dockyard; and English Harbour, now the centre of a national park crossed by walking trails along the hilltop battlements.

Active holidaymakers have other delights in store. The expansive, winding coastline is where trekkers can encounter a wealth of secluded, powdery soft beaches. Snorkellers and scuba divers home in on the wonderful coral reefs. During Sailing Week, you can watch, sign up as a deck hand or of course join in the sailing yourself. Explore the underground caves at Indian Town, rumoured to extend all the way to Guadeloupe.

There’s an annual carnival, mouth-watering Caribbean food, the largest casino in the eastern Caribbean, duty-free shopping, natural wonders including rainforest, the Frigate Bird Sanctuary and Devil’s Bridge and much more. Accommodation ranges from the budget to the ultra-chic, super-luxurious Carlisle Bay, where prices start from £416 per night for a double room.

BEST TIME TO GO

Mercifully low, in spite of the glories the islands have to offer. The rugged terrain makes overdevelopment unlikely and the roads, where they exist, are charmingly bad; many of the scores of beaches are unreachable by road. So here’s a paradise that looks like staying so for a while yet. The best time to go is during Sailing Week, but be sure to book well ahead.

When we think of the ideal holiday paradise, most often Caribbean holidays will spring to mind. With palm trees, empty sandy beaches and blue waters you will love luxury holidays in the Caribbean, where you have so many islands and quality resorts to choose from.

The Caribbean is made up of thousands of islands, and choosing which to visit on Caribbean holidays is a lovely problem to have. Because the Caribbean islands are spread over such a large area, there are regional differences in climate, but in general, the weather systems of the Caribbean Sea keep the area warm and welcoming. Taking Trinidad & Tobago as an example, the islands enjoy only a slight variation during the year, with an average annual temperature of 25°C with highs of 31°C: perfect for luxury holidays to the Caribbean.

Romance

The Caribbean is undoubtedly a romantic part of the world. Drawing partly on the desert island fantasy of being stranded in paradise, and partly from the innate beauty of the location, these islands are ideal for honeymoons and intimate Caribbean holidays for couples. There are many resorts perfect for romantic holidays where you can walk hand in hand on an empty beach and watch the sunset from the balcony of a luxury hotel.

The Cotton House in Mustique is one of several hotels that offer privacy and luxury on Caribbean holidays that couples will enjoy. You get your own private pool here and the chance to have a suite with its own lounge, so you can have your own space. You may even choose a cottage so you can feel really at home on the island.

For couples who like sailing, there are ‘Sail away’ packages and island hopping experiences. You might like to stop for a time on the tiny Young Island resort close St Vincent while exploring the Grenadines by yacht.

Family Fun

As well as being good for couples, the Caribbean is the perfect place to share with all your loved ones. There are many Caribbean holiday resorts where your children are welcome and can enjoy long days of play in the fine weather. Look out for the ‘family friendly’ resorts and hotels with Kids’ Clubs like the one at the Round Hill Hotel & Villas in Jamaica.

For some activity on your luxury holidays in the Caribbean there numerous opportunities to play golf or tennis, and you can take to the sea with a variety of water sports. You might like to try windsurfing in Barbados or Jamaica. The Round Hill Hotel & Villas in Jamaica have safe waters for learning to windsurf as well as snorkelling and diving. You can rely on sea temperatures in the Caribbean to be clement, and scuba divers will love the access to the colourful coral reefs vibrant with tropical fish.

Natural Beauty

The natural beauty you can see on luxury holidays in the Caribbean is not only found on the coast. You might like to stand underneath one of the waterfalls on of St Lucia, washing yourself with the waters of a Caribbean stream, or float in the fresh water pools in a woodland oasis. On the same island you can see the dormant volcanoes and explore the jungle environment. The Caribbean is an area of natural diversity where you might see wildlife on some islands that are rare and you can’t see anywhere else.
