With an average annual temperature of 82°F (28°C), visitors are guaranteed a pleasant and fine climate regardless of season. The temperature of Aruba would never exceed than 89°F or 32°C. On the other hand, their lowest temperature would never go below 76°F or 24°C, allowing visitors to enjoy the nightlife all throughout the year. For anyone looking to get away in the early part of the summer or the late part of spring, selection of a holiday destination is important in terms of weather of course but also in terms of how ready a resort is likely to be at that time of year. Many holiday resorts have a well defined season, where local hotels, restaurants and even shops base their opening times, stock levels, staffing levels and all kinds of other things on the time of year. However, outside of the main holiday season many of these places will scale down or even close completely. The off-season is when holiday workers take their own time off.

For European workers their preferred holiday locations will be places where local summertime occurs in November, December or January. Places like Australia and the Caribbean are favourites. If you go to a popular European summer hotspot out of season you may be faced with a totally different place to the one you expect. Of course this may not always be the case. Places that have an economy that doesn’t rely solely on tourism can be great places to visit pre-season. On the southern coast of France places like St Tropez and Nice spring to mind. Other places to consider are those that have attractive geographical features like spectacular coastlines or beautiful countryside.

In Italy, Tuscany is a wonderful place to visit in late spring. Many people are attracted to Italy because of its style, friendly people, weather and scenic countryside and Tuscany delivers on all these points. Florence, Siena and the walled city of Lucca are all breathtakingly beautiful from an architectural perspective and of course for food and wine lovers Italy is sure to be a hit. The early season is also a popular time of year for tourism in Majorca. Alongside Ibiza and Menorca, Mallorca is close enough to mainland Spain to feel part of a larger economy but is alsofar enough away to feel like a separate holiday destination. A land of farms, mountains, monasteries and spectacular coastlines, there are always things and places to discover in Majorca. The capital city of Palma is also worth a visit, with its seafront location, harbour and wealth of restaurants, shops and cafes.
