The Caribbean is one of the most popular exotic holiday destinations. The Dominican Republic was the most popular Caribbean island in 2009, with almost 4 million visitors in 2009. Located on the island of Hispaniola, it’s one of two Caribbean islands that is shared by two countries – the western third of the island is occupied by Haiti.

In the 1490’s the Dominican Republic became the site of the first permanent European settlement in the Americas, and Spain’s first capital in the New World.

The Dominican Republic has the second largest economy in the Caribbean, dominated by the services industry despite its reputation for sugar production. It’s tourism that fuels the country’s economic growth, representing an estimated one in every seven jobs.

Tourists are often attracted to the country because of its year-round golf course, the warm climate and great biological diversity. The Caribbean is home to around 9% of the world’s coral reefs, which cover about 20,000 square miles.

One of the best ways to explore the Caribbean is from the beautiful blue seas, and perhaps the most luxurious way to do so is with a yacht charter. Caribbean newcomers can start their trip at the hugely popular Dominican Republic and then sail across to one of the many other islands. Located in the midst of the Caribbean islands, the Dominican Republic is neighboured by Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.

Chartering a yacht gives you the freedom to go where you wish, with the luxury of travelling in a beautiful yacht. You can hire a skipper to sail the boat for you or, if you’re confident enough and have plenty of experience, you can take charge of your holiday and explore yourself.

The Caribbean doesn’t seem so impressive when you look at a map of the location. It’s just a bunch of little specks surrounded by tons of ocean water. Names like Caicos Island, Turks, and Nevis… Saint Kitts, Anguilla and Montserrat aren’t exactly household names.

But, just because the names aren’t all too familiar, it doesn’t change the fact that the Caribbean is a very popular vacation destination. The little specks on the map are actually island paradises. There are over seven-thousand islets, reefs, islands and caves in the Caribbean just begging to be explored; so many of them are nearly unpopulated and absolutely gorgeous.

In choosing your Caribbean vacation, the largest challenge you are apt to face is exactly where to go. All nations in the Caribbean have beautiful weather. Most of the islands feature lovely beaches. The warm, beautiful, crystal waters are immensely enjoyable and just as with any other island nation, the locals will welcome you with warm smiles and open arms. Picking the destination is indeed the toughest challenge. Here are some great resources that will help you do the necessary research to choose the best locale for your holiday.

Barring the ability to walk on water, the arrival by cruise ship, or the insanity of an ocean kayak journey, you’re probably going to want to fly. You should find out which destinations are frequented by the most visitors as those will be the cheapest airports for your arrival. Don’t’ be afraid to comparison shop, but do start way in advance to give you time do the necessary work. This is especially true if you plan to take a trip to the Caribbean over the Christmas holiday season. If you procrastinate too long in booking your flights you just might find that the price tags for those tickets just keep going up and up as the Christmas holiday draws near.

There are a wide variety of accommodation choices when you visit the Caribbean. You can stay in the nearest shack on the beach to the 5-start luxury hotels. You can do an internet search to find out more about Caribbean hotels; you can see pictures, get virtual tours… this should give you some idea about what to expect. A tighter budget might leave you hard-pressed to find great accommodations, but there are also some hostels in the Caribbean that can be money-savers. There are also your typical cheap hotels, as well. Your best bet is to simply do a thorough search to find the best accommodations to suit your specific needs and budget.

There are a great number of people who choose to go the cruise route. There are absolutely no shortages of fine cruise offers and deals that will take you on beautiful journeys through the region. There are usually some great rates and discounts at certain times of year; you may want to consider taking a cruise in the “off” season if you can.

With all if these things in mind, you should have no problems planning a wonderful trip to paradise.

The 1st day of your Caribbean Sea cruise holiday is here. Nearly of the daytime will be passed getting at know your cruise liner, building spa appointees, booking tours of duty on the Caribbean Sea Islands and trying to get sail tips from your fellow riders.

The first night of your Caribbean Sea cruise vacation is all of the time a chance night since nearly populate have moved around a good component part of the day. It’s also the night you meet your table mates. Here is different cruise tip, be some minutes late on the first night. There has generally a beat of populate when the dinner party bell rings and everybody is assaying to find their table.

If you’re eating in the traditional cruise style, forever invite a big table for many argues. You’ve abettor chance of gathering a mix of populate, and the more populate you gather on your cruise journey, the merrier. One matter to do is transfer seats nightly at the table so everybody bothers talk to everybody additional on the naturally of your cruise holiday. It’s much more amusing. And a around table is ideal since orthogonal ones make it hard to talk to the guy at the other end.

However, if you find that you’re despondent with your table, perfectly go to the headwaiter’ and asked to be moved. He or she will admit you as better they can. At that place are populate who chose to dine lonely and the ships accept tables for two but they fill up fast.

Freestyle Dining and alternative Dining are usable on a few Cruise Lines for those who prefer to eat on their own or don’t prefer to be designated to a particular dining time. Your journey broker will be able to arrange this up when engagement your Caribbean Sea cruise holiday.

Get rainproof sunscreen and use it munificently if you are swimming or snorkel diving. Don’t forget the tops of your feet, your spikes and lips, this can be highly afflictive. Wear a hat so you don’t burn off your scalp.

To avoid injury come after these tips. Be deliberate if the decks of cards are wet, they get identical slippy. When offering to shore keeps your arms and legs inside the tender. These are all really good cruise tips

Most populate won’t prefer to be bothered with their computers, but it is gracious to agree your email if you are attending be out awhile, and ship to shore calls are really expensive on the cruise lines.

The last evening will in addition to be a chance night because you have carried your bags and put them away your cruise cabin. Tomorrow will be an early morning time and the end of your enchanting Caribbean Sea cruise holiday.

There forever look to be more enquiries about tipping off while accepting a Caribbean Sea cruise holiday. These enquiries luck into European cruise holidays too, but we’ll stick with the Caribbean Sea. A few cruise lines will perfectly not let you tip.

These are the really high stop cruise lines. A few mechanically add it to your bill. If you don’t like this arranging tell the purser that you’ll tip on their own. Tipping on a cruise liner is really of import since the room keeper; waiter and waiter’s assistant all make their living on tips.

They work really hard to keep you happy during your Caribbean Sea cruise holiday so please tip them. You may prefer to work out the quantity of tips you will be paying at the beginning of the cruise holiday and differentiate that from your pocket money.

Alcoholic beverages aboard are expensive. All cruise liner* have there own policy if you bring your own, some appropriated it and bring back at the end of the cruise, others permit you to buy bottlefuls on board, and other people will permit you to buy it but will not present it until the end of the cruise.

Flaunting the third-longest river, South America’s largest lake, the highest waterfall in the world and longest snake in the world, Venezuela is a spectacular land. With the Amazonian jungle, to its south, Peaks of Andes to its west and exotic Gran Sabana plateau to its east and white sandy beaches on the Caribbean coast, Venezuela is resplendent with bountiful nature. With all these assets, Venezuela becomes a great tourist spot to spend those fun filled vacations.

A major attraction in Venezuela is a group of 300 sandy islands called Los Roques. The islands and islets are located in the aquamarine waters, to the northern part of Caracas. The tourists, who wish to pursue water sports, can engage in diving and snorkelling. In 1972, the entire archipelago was declared as a national park. The waters that surround the archipelago are rich in marine life like lobsters and the majority of the islands are uninhabited.

Another famous spot is the Guacharo Cave, which is Venezuela’s longest cave system. The inhabitants of the 10.2 km cave are the guacharo or oil bird. The bird lives in complete darkness and searches for food, during the night. During the months of August to December, a large number of Guacharos come to the cave that is filled with stalactites and stalagmites.

Delta del Orinoco is a nature lover’s paradise with islands, channels, mangroves and swamps. it is one of the world’s greatest river deltas and captivating regions. Howler monkeys, Piranhas and parrots make the delta more attractive. The River splits into 40 channels and flows along the Atlantic coast. The inhabitants of the delta are the Warao Indians or the Canoe people.

The Parque Nacional Henri Pitter is the most diverse and oldest of the national parks, in Venezuela. The park has a long coastline, a variety of bird species, suitable for bird-watchers, a few paths that can be traversed by the hikers and colonial towns and the park resonates with the African drum beats. The park was established in the year 1937 and named after the Swiss Botanist Henri Pittier. The park’s highlights are the variety of bird species that amount to about 600. The animals housed in the park include deer, tapirs, pumas, peccaries, ocelots, armadillos, snakes, and bats. The park is home to colonial towns like Puerto Colombia.

The world’s highest waterfall, Angel Falls is Venezuela’s much sought after tourist attraction. It is 979 metres high and is sixteen times higher than Niagara Falls. The cascade gushes and falls into the Devila canyon. The falls is named after Jimmie Angel, an American Bush pilot. Only when travelling by boat can you get close to the Waterfalls.

Venezuela offers tourists of all types something to cherish. It can be a haven for trekkers, hikers, water sports lovers, beach lovers and nature. The hikers can explore the mountainous regions of the flat-topped sandstone mountains, Roraima. The adventurous can climb the mountain and rock formations and satisfy their daring side. For the beach lovers, the long stretches of sandy beaches will suffice and for the nature lovers, the bountiful nature of Venezuela with rivers, waterfalls and exotic natural settings make Venezuela a great place to visit and enjoy.

Summer time is mostly about escaping the oozing heat of the sun. Maybe go to some place really cold where you can ski and snowboard for life. In some cases, it’s enjoying it in a quiet little paradise and savouring every moment of it away from the daily hassles of work. Hawaii for some reason has been the summer hangout of the world. Why not do it at some place that’s not totally typical. Like maybe instead of the Pacific, let’s go for the Atlantic and I have just the perfect place for you.

Bermuda is a group of coral islands in the Atlantic Ocean and is actually a dependency of the United Kingdom. It is usually a popular resort centre not only among the Europeans but also among everyone else. They lie midway between Nova Scotia, Canada and the West Indies about 1,000 kilometers away from New York City. It’s a total haven to all the vacation seekers out there. But first off, let me give you a head start to five of the must see places in the Bermuda Islands.

The Devil’s Hole Aquarium is the first and oldest tourist attraction in Bermuda. Although it has been developed into a well-designed centre, many of its unique and foremost features have been retained. The Devil’s Hole is a natural fish pond where about 300 species of fish can be found. A gift shop and a ship are allotted to give you a personalized sense of enjoyment.

If you’re in search of holy ground, check out the St. Peter’s Church which dates way back to 1619. It has a unique Bermudian woodwork architecture that’s been kept for the past 500 years. The St. Peter’s Church was brought by the first settlers and is a part of the World Heritage Site. Craving for history and new facts? The African Diaspora Trail brings you the meeting place of the African, Caribbean, Native America, and British heritage. It highlights the most of the many interesting points about the islands.

Go beyond your imagination and check out the Crystal and Fantasea Caves of Bermuda Islands. Discovered in 1884, it’s been hailed as a silent world of delicate splendour. Crystal stalactites and stalagmites posing as Mother Nature’s offspring for over 30 million years now, the cave is definitely a must-see attraction.

For the travel junkie on the lookout for action, you might want to go to the Snorkel Park. The hospitality of the locals caters to all the amenities and services of the beach-goers. The water sports are just so cool, it’s just so impossible to stop. The Bar and Grill of the resort offers the tropical favourites and the local foods. This is one place you definitely do not want to miss.

Basically, those are just a few of the many attractions in The Bermuda Islands. The pink sands and the cerulean blue sea make the island more appealing in its own natural way. Setting aside the beach, the treasured heritage of the British dependency should be another magnetic pull for the travel aficionado. Bermuda is a summer haven and there should be no mistaken it.

The Yucatan Peninsula is the gateway to the Mayan world, where you can enjoy the white-sand beach resorts and the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. Here you can scuba dive along the world’s second largest coral reef. You can also swim in fresh water pools in submerged caverns, known as cenotes.

In the Pacific Coast region, you’ll find cities and towns with rich cultural and culinary traditions, as well as some of the best beaches for water sports like surfing and fishing.

The Baja California Peninsula territory has been inhabited from time immemorial, in this region you can play golf on world-class courses, discover the underwater treasures of the Sea of Cortez, and witness the amazing migration of the Gray Whale.

Mexico’s 32 states are truly diverse, as each one has countless tourist destinations offering a wide array of activities.

Probably one of Mexico’s most important and famous beach resorts is Acapulco, which is located on the Pacific coast, 395 kilometers (245 miles) from Mexico City and 133 kilometers (83 miles) from Chilpancingo, the state capital of Guerrero. It has a warm, humid climate with temperatures ranging from 22º C (72º F) to 33º C (91º F) with sunny days throughout the year.

Among the port city’s many enticing qualities are: its beautiful bay, one of the best in the world; the calm waters of its beaches; the amenities offered by its well established hotel industry, which in recent years has undergone a major revamping, especially in the Punta Diamante neighborhood; and finally, the city’s unbeatable nightlife, which offers one of the hottest playgrounds among Mexican vacation destinations.

For those who have never visited Acapulco, we recommend that you visit la Isla de la Roqueta (Roqueta Island), an ideal island setting where you can either relax or enjoy some scuba diving. You’ll also want to check out the infamous La Quebrada, where fearless cliff divers plunge into the ocean below. If you’re looking for a little excitement of your own, Acapulco offers bungee jumping and parasailing, where from high above you can admire the stunning panoramic views of the bay, the hotel zone and the surrounding mountains, in their utmost splendor.

Nearby Acapulco, you can visit the beach of Pie de la Cuesta, known for its spectacular sunsets, or Puerto Marques, with it beautiful bay and calm waters. Finally, don’t miss out on Barra Vieja, where you are sure to enjoy delicious seafood dishes prepared in traditional Mexican restaurants.

The capital of Mexico is Mexico City, the oldest metropolis on the American continent. The city is perched atop a highland valley at about 2,240 meters (7,392 feet) above sea level. Towering high above the city’s southeast side are two volcanoes: Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. The nation’s capital has some of the best weather in the world with an average temperature of 22º C (72º F).

Once known as the City of Palaces, Mexico City has two areas that were declared World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO. The first, the Centro Historico (Historic Center), has beautiful historic and religious buildings, such as the Catedral Metropolitano (Metropolitan Cathedral), one of the most important architectural structures in the Western Hemisphere.

The Palacio Nacional (National Palace) has spectacular Diego Rivera murals that chronicle Mexico’s history. And Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts), which hosts the city’s most important cultural events, is a beautiful construction that blends art nouveau and art deco styles. The other World Heritage Site, Xochimilco Ecological Park, is often called the Venice of Mexico due to its beautiful canals. Flower-painted boats offer tours of the canals and floating gardens.

If you’re interested in cultural events, Mexico City offers a wide variety of museums, such as the Museo Nacional de Antropologia (a world-class anthropology museum), the Museo Nacional de Arte (The National Art Museum) and the Museo Nacional de Historia (a history museum in Chapultepec Castle where you can see an amazing exhibit that chronicles the nation’s history and art, from the pre-Hispanic era to present day).

In north Mexico City, you can visit the Basilica de Guadalupe, one of the most visited basilicas in the world; in fact, it is second only to Saint Peter’s Basilica, in Vatican City, in the number of visitors it receives each year. This is a must-see for those who want to learn more about the city’s customs and traditions.

What’s more, Mexico City is a cosmopolitan metropolis, where new and old traditions coexist side by side. Here you can go shopping at bazaars and crafts markets in the Coyoacan and San Angel neighborhoods. Or you can go to exclusive boutiques and shopping centers in the posh communities of Santa Fe and Polanco, where you’ll be surrounded by the comfort of top-notch hotels and restaurants.

Mexico is well recognized in the world for its rich gastronomic tradition which offers a great variety of dishes and beverages prepared with innumerable ingredients. The taste, aroma and texture of these ingredients can charm even the most demanding palate and thus turn Mexico into one of the most important destinations in the sphere of international cuisines.

Mexico is becoming a more popular tourist destination, especially for wedding parties and honeymooners, touring, its world heritage sites and its gastronomy.

Let’s face it: it takes a lot of work to plan for a wedding. But, deciding where to go on your honeymoon once the knot has been tied is all about fun and fantasy. Your first holiday together as a married couple should be a delightful fulfillment of your dreams, a chance to enjoy the company of the person who means the most to you. This might just be the most romantic vacation you will ever experience, so consider these international locations when choosing the perfect spot.

1. There is no limit of beautiful destinations to choose from when planning a honeymoon. One of the most popular, however, remains Hawaii. Sought out by honeymooners the world over, the Hawaiian Islands offer the excitement of discovery: there is always an variety of beautiful views and fun experiences to keep you on your toes. Just sitting on a beach and watching the sunset with the love of your life might be worth a trip to the Hawaiian Islands. But if you were looking for something to fill the other twenty-three hours of the day, you could golf on some of the most beautiful courses on earth. Whatever you are looking for from your honeymoon, you can find in Hawaii.

2. Tour the coast of southern Europe. The Mediterranean region offers both beauty and culture to the couple looking for a variety of experiences. Travel to Italy, where you can enjoy the sand by the sea and the beautiful mountain scenery of the Alps. Visit Rome and Vatican City, where you can take in ancient ruins and Baroque statues on one guided tour. In northern Italy, you will find the vibrant cultural centers of Venice and Milan. Stop off in the Florence and visit some of the most renowned museums in the world.

3. When looking for the perfect tropical destination, you cannot beat Tahiti. This Polynesian island might just be the closest thing to paradise on earth. There are pristine beaches to explore, of course, but also the rustic town of Papeete which has plenty of shops and eateries to appeal to tourists. Take a cruise tour of the surrounding islands, or even go below the water and visit the coral reefs.

4. Another tropical option is Anguilla, a tiny island near the British Virgin Islands. Anguilla is the place for couples who just want to relax and bask in the glorious sunshine. Besides the perfect beaches that you would expect from an island in the Caribbean, you can also expect to find hospitable lodgings and restaurants. This island is just the place to enjoy that perfectly romantic sunset.

5. The islands of Fiji combine pristine beaches with spectacular mountain views. Located in the South Pacific, it is one of the most beautiful locations you could find. Fiji even allows you to book a private island for a day! Spend a the day alone the person you love best, running down the beach, swimming, eating a delightful lunch and finally, relaxing on the beach as the sun sets. What could be better?

Good choice, you have chosen Barbados as the destination for your Caribbean surf trip, the warm waters of the Barbados are every surfers dream, leave your wetsuit at home, all you’ll need to brave these water are your boardshorts and a rashguard… and oh yeah Sunblock.

There are a number of local websites which can help you with everything from accommodation and car rental to hooking you up with a competent surf tour company. Local sites are better because not only do they have first hand knowledge of information you may require, but they are generally more up to date.

One of the things that makes this island and ideal surf destination (apart from the fact that there is always something to surf) is its size, you are never more than 45 minutes away from the surf. Therefore when choosing your accommodation it is best to look for somewhere along the coast that is central in terms of surf breaks, we would advise the south between long beach and Maxwell or Dover. Any good local surf site can give you a list of options for accommodation that welcomes surfers.

You’ve got your tickets, booked your accommodation and you must now decide whether to take your own board or hire one when you get there. Personally I think it is better to hire a board when you get there for several reasons. The first is that you risk damage to your board on the flight (the airlines do not accept responsibility and even if it does you are still without your board for all or at least part of your trip). Secondly you have to pay to transport the board anyway. Third is that there are several breaks on the island and one board may not be the best choice as conditions from break to break vary, when you rent a board from one of the better companies they allow you to change off to a longer or shorter board as conditions change. Much more convenient and it makes for the best out of each break.

The number of breaks in this small island is mind boggling for its size. The Soup Bowl on the east coast is the premier break on the island and is an advanced break with powerful waves that can top 12 ft when it goes off and is frequented by Kelly Slater whenever he is on the island. The soup bowl is like a magnet, if there is any swell around it will catch it. Its sister break “Parlour” which is separated from the soup bowl by just a boulder can be just as enjoyable with a smaller line-up.

The south coast has several breaks and which is the top spot depends on who you ask but it is generally agreed that the three at the top of the list are South Point, Freights and Brandons (Drill Hall). There are many other breaks on the South, some are known breaks and are listed by many surf sites on the net, some of them are secret spots and are known mainly to locals. For this reason we recommend that you contact one of the surf companies that offer surf tours and really experience the best surf on the island.

The west coast of the island only goes off on a north swell, but oh when it does. Perfection. While many of the breaks may seem to be a surfers dream, many may have their own hazards and this is another reason that we highly recommend that you utilize the services of a local surf tour company who can guide you through the do’s and don’ts, another benefit is that transportation and boards are included in their cost.

In the event that you decide to brave the breaks on your own you will seriously need to consider renting a car to get to the different breaks in this case bring your own soft racks as very few, if any, car rental companies carry racks and most companies frown on surfboards being carried on their cars. In most cases they will allow it but they definitely do not encourage it.
